The hockey world has once again been thrust into mourning following the tragic passings of two young Alberta hockey players, Kayla Peacock and Danica Hills, following a car accident.

Tragically, the hockey world has been thrust into mourning again with the untimely passing of two more young hockey players who had their entire lives ahead of them.
Danica Hills and Kayla Peacock, who played for the U18 Jasper Bearcats and attended Harry Collinge High School in Alberta, died after being involved in a car accident reportedly because of treacherous road conditions.
They were travelling home from hockey practice and a team photoshoot at the time of the accident, which involved a semi-truck.
BREAKING: Two female students from Harry Collinge High School in Hinton, Alberta, died Monday evening in a collision on Highway 16.

Jasper RCMP say the crash, involving a pickup and a semi-truck about 10 kilometres east of Jasper around 7:15 p.m., claimed the lives of the 17-year-old driver and her 18-year-old passenger.

Both students played for the U18 Jasper Bearcats hockey team in the North Eastern Alberta Hockey League, according to tributes from Jasper Mayor Richard Ireland and Edson Mayor Kevin Zahara. - YEGWAVE

Both Players Had Their Entire Lives Ahead Of Them

Per reports, Hills had been accepted into the University of Alberta's faculty of engineering, while Peacock had plans to attend MC College.
Per Grant Bradley, the president of Jasper Minor Sports, there have been numerous incidents involving dangerous travel in that portion of the country which has caused elevated concern.
This is not the first incident this year in Alberta. So that's one of the concerns and it has been raised at league level as to travel.»

There's young people that travel many miles on the road over their young hockey careers, and they're at risk in doing this and progressing themselves in hockey. - Grant Bradley

RIP to both young women who sadly lost their lives far too soon.
