REPORT: Toronto Maple Leafs interested in TRADING for former 24 goal scorer
One thing the Toronto Maple Leafs have never had a problem doing was scoring goals, it was defending them that was the issue. But in typical Toronto Maple Leaf fashion, Kyle Dubas is reportedly interested in acquiring another top 6 forward.
While Bunting fit in well with Matthews and Marner last season, there has been a constant rotation of forwards who play with Tavares and Nylander, and Kyle Dubas thinks he may have found the perfect fit who could also come at a very cheap rate.
According to Elliotte Friedman, the Maple Leafs are interested in acquiring Frank Vatrano from the Anaheim Ducks:
All I've heard from the Ducks is Toronto having some interest in Frank Vatrano, which I think makes a lot of sense, left-hand shot, guy can score, but someone said to me they can't even do at 50%, it's 1.8M, it's not something they think they can fix

Vatrano is only 28 years old so he has a lot of good hockey left in him, but he is a few seasons removed from his season high 24 goal campaign. Perhaps on a high calibre Maple Leafs offense, Vatrano can recover his scoring touch:
