It appears as though possibly the NHL's biggest free agent name may be coming off the board very soon, and headed to a very shocking team.

Kane Headed Back To Central Division?

It has been reported that top free agent Hall of Fame worthy forward Patrick Kane and his team are in deep talks of getting a contract done with a former Central Division rival. It is the Dallas Stars that are right now in the lead to sign the 34 year old superstar, as a multi-year deal is currently trying to be worked on.
Kane, who has spent all but the second half of last season as a Chicago Blackhawk, is very familiar with the Stars and how they play, and with their additonal signing of Matt Duchene, they're looking to seriously boost their offense.
Sounds like Patrick Kane and the Dallas Stars are deep into contract talks.

Multi-year deal is on the table, but the Stars would need to move Mason Marchment.

Kane In Means Marchment Out

The Stars are faced with one issue when it comes to signing Kane. In order to make room for him, that would mean that more than likely fellow forward Mason Marchment would have to be shipped elsewhere.
Marchment, 28, had a bit of a down year this past season in his first and possibly last year with Dallas. In a career-high 68 games, he only put up 31 points and finished the season at a -6 +/- rate.
It'd be a shame for Dallas to have to move on from Marchment so soon after acquiring him, but the possible signing of one of the best wingers of the 2000's era is definitely worth it. As someone with multiple Stanley Cup victories, Kane would help this Stars team tremendously to get to the top after falling just short the past several years.
