But after losing Captain Shea Weber and arguably the leagues best goalie Carey Price this season, it looks like that was just too much for the team to overcome. Currently with only 11 points in 45 games, Petry is on pace for his worst statistical season since joining the Canadiens. But the good news is, since the coaching chance, Petry has 5 points in the last 7 games, proving that this 34 year old veteran still has a lot left to offer a contending team.
After this season Petry still has 3 years remaining on a contract that pays him $6,250,000, which is a long time and a lot of money for someone who is 34. But this insider believes he would be a perfect fit with this Metro division team.

While the Philadelphia Flyers are not a playoff team this season, they still do have the tools and young players to be very competitive next season. Something this team has been desperate for since the departure of Matt Niskanan is a solid right handed defenceman capable of playing 20+ minutes to pair with their young star defenceman Ivan Provorov, who just hasn't been the same with his new defence partners.
What do you think, how would Petry look in a Flyers uniform?
