This past offseason saw former first round pick Rasmus Ristolainen traded to the Philadelphia Flyers from the Buffalo Sabres. He was drafted back in 2013, played 542 games in a Sabres uniform and never even sniffed the playoffs. So when he was traded to the Flyers in the offseason, who on paper, had a cup calibre team, he must have been overjoyed.
This offensive minded defenceman has put up 40+ points 4 times in his career on an offensively challenged Sabres team.
After the Flyers horrible season this year, it sounds like Ristolainen may be on the move yet again. Insider Elliote Friedman in his 32 thoughts column wrote:
I think Rasmus Ristolainen gets moved. He wants a playoff series. Not only do I understand the desire to finally get a chance after almost 600 games, but I could see Ristolainen thinking postseason style as beneficial for his market value.
Where do you think would be a good fit for this young offensive defenceman?
