This confirms what many fans have been hoping for, and with so many teams like Sweden, Canada, United States, Russia and many more having stacked teams full of NHL stars, it's about time we get to see the best in the world go head-to-head.
While Bettman confirmed the NHL doesn't make money from it, it's certainly a good move, as it allows the games best players to be seen on a world stage, and after some of the headlines that have been created over the years by hockey in the Olympics, it's best for business.
Bettman also reiterated that they need to make arrangements with the IOC to make it happen, but if everything is clear, the 2026 Winter Olympics should be host to one of the most competitive hockey tournaments of all time.
