We all know what happened with the Calgary Flames and Matthew Tkachuk this offseason, but incase you somehow missed it, here is a quick summary:
Matthew Tkachuk was upset that the Flames lost Johnny Gaudreau in free agency and told the team that he had no intentions of re-signing with them long-term. He then gave the Flames a very small list of teams that he would be interested in signing a long term contract with that the Flames could trade him to.
He was then traded to the Florida Panthers in exchange for Jonathan Huberdeau, Mackenzie Weegar, Cole Schwindt and a 1st round pick. Somehow the Flames actually came out ontop of the team as Huberdeau has been a higher point producer than Tkachuk and they got additional assets included as well. The Flames then managed to bring in Nazem Kadri fresh off his stanley cup performance as well!
