The Colorado Avalanche are still basking in the glory of being the Stanley Cup champions, but in another two weeks they will no longer be in celebration and instead they will be in a battle to defend their title.
The team absolutely dominated in the playoffs this past season and unfortunately that came with a few injuries that these players battled through, that these players are now trying to heal and get back to playing form.
But unfortunately for the Colorado Avalanche captain Gabriel Landeskog, he will not be with the team to start the year.
The injury Landeskog is dealing with is considered ''lower body'' but what should be concerning to fans is that the coach is quoting it as ''He wont be skating anytime soon''.
Landeskog may not have been the leading point scorer on the team, but he does provide some great scoring which will be highly missed by the Avalanche.
The Avalanche lost some key players like Nazem Kadri in the offseason, can they still be a dominant force in the regular season without their captain?
