Staal Takes Skate To The Face
Midway through the second period in tonight's game between the Carolina Hurricanes and the Washington Capitals, the Carolina Hurricanes captain took a skate to the face from Capitals defenseman Martin Feherevary.
The broadcast showed Jordan Staal take a skate up high during the second period. Looked to catch him perhaps around the forehead area. He has yet to return and we will keep an eye on that.
Jordan Staal hasn't played since 9:31 of the second period for Carolina.
Per @TrippTracy on Canes telecast, Staal was cut by a skate and is not on bench.
Hopefully, Staal is okay as these kinds of injuries are super dangerous but sadly a part of the game.
UPDATE: Staal returned for the third period. Great to here he did not get hurt too seriously.
