Ovechkin is a true family man. He enjoys having his kids involved in every aspect of his life and his parents were the same way with him. Both his parent were professional athletes, his mom was a professional basketball player and his father was a high level soccer player. His family spent quite a few years with him in Washington when he first joined the Capitals and his mom even negotiated his first big contract.
