Montreal Canadiens lose promising forward for months after major surgery
The Montreal Canadiens have lost promising young forward Rafael Harvey-Pinard after he underwent surgery knocking him out for the start of the 2024-25 season.
Yesterday, the Montreal Canadiens announced that Rafael Harvey-Pinard will be out for four months following a leg injury.
Forward Rafaël Harvey-Pinard underwent successful surgery on Thursday after suffering a broken leg. The recovery period for the 25-year-old winger is estimated to be four months.
#TSLH is reporting that Rafael Harvey-Pinard recently suffered an injury to his right knee during a recent sporting event with current & recent #Rocket players.
Harvey-Pinard was in uniform for only 45 games last season due to a couple of lower-body injuries that forced him to miss significant amount of action.
This could be bad news for the forward as his roster spot for the upcoming season was far from being locked in.
Harvey-Pinard is one of the promising players in a young Montreal Canadiens system scoring 14 goals and 20 points in 34 games in 2022-23 after getting his NHL callup. Then in 2023-24, Harvey-Pinard did not get as much ice time but played exclusively in the NHL when he was healthy, which was 45 games.
Moving forward, Harvey-Pinard will look to maintain his health so that he can have a lengthy NHL career.
