The top four rumored teams to land Patrik Laine may have just been revealed
Patrik Laine is certainly the biggest name on the trade market right now and the top four finalists for his services may have just been revealed.
Earlier this week it was announced that Patrik Laine was cleared to return from the NHL Player Assistance program which threw his name into many more trade rumors. The Finnish winger and former 2nd overall pick has proven to be one of the best goalscorers in the NHL when he is on his game but is also streaky.
A recent rumor was reported by Eklund of HockeyBuzz.com stating that there are four teams in the running for Laine. Check it out.
Carolina is the logical leading candidate for Laine, with their large Finnish contingent and the losses of Jake Guentzel and Teuvo Teravainen leaving a hole, but other teams like Los Angeles, Chicago and Montreal could also be in the mix. Laine struggled in 2023-24 playing in only 18 games and scoring only nine points but before this, he was looking like a bonafide first-line winger.
Patrik Laine has 117 points in his last 129 games.
Let's stop acting like he's a bum.
Hopefully, for Laine, and whichever team lands him, he will be able to find his stride again and go back to being one of the best goal-scorers in the NHL.
