Alex Pietrangelo's future in the NHL has been up in the air, and after a recent move from the Golden Knights, his career may be officially over.
For the past 17 years, Alex Pietrangelo has been a constant in the NHL, playing in 1,087 games with the St. Louis Blues and the Vegas Golden Knights, winning one Stanley Cup with each organization.
Unfortunately, at 35-years of age, he's dealt with plenty of injuries throughout that time, and this past off-season, it was predicted that his career may be over after suffering another
major injury.
Golden Knights Confirm Pietrangelo Will Miss Entire Season and Playoffs
Now, the Golden Knights have confirmed the worst, revealing their opening night roster, and in doing so, stating that Pietrangelo will miss the entire regular season and the Stanley Cup Playoffs in 2025/26.
That doesn't officially mean that his career is over, but given all that he's accomplished across 17 years and how big this recent injury is, it wouldn't be a surprise to anyone within the organization if he'd played his last NHL game already.
That means that once more, Vegas has plenty of cash to spend, and with the team already looking into the likes of
Rasmus Andersson, they'll now have plenty of money to try and replace the veteran star.
If this is the end, Pietrangelo would go down as a two-time Stanley Cup winner with 148 goals and 637 points in his 1,087 reglar season games played, but with modern medicine continuing to improve the lives of athletes, there's no way of knowing his future until it's officially confirmed by the player and the team.
