Canucks fans toss trash on the ice after terrible penalty call
The Stanley Cup Playoffs are a stressful time for all involved including fans last night the Canucks fans took out their stress on the referees and ice crew after a missed call.
The Vancouver Canucks fans have always been known for taking things a bit too far. Last night this trend continued after a questionable call by the referees. Star forward Elias Pettersson was called for a charging penalty on a play where he did not skate but did jump to make a hit.
AWFUL charging call here on Elias Pettersson
The lack of a charge in the lead-up to this hit and the more reverse-hit nature of the motion caused outrage amongst fans at home and in attendance. After the call was made fans would begin throwing trash on the ice which would eventually force the ice crew to come out and clean up the mess.
Canucks fans just threw a bunch of beers on the ice lmao... it's hostile in here! #Canucks #LetsGoOilers
The fans were trying to make the night more miserable for the refs but instead made it more miserable for people who work for the team they want to win. Passion is great to have when it comes to sports as a fan. However, when that passion leads to things like this a line has been crossed.
