With his contract running out with the Edmonton Oilers, it appears as though rumours have officially revealed Ken Holland's next career move.

The Edmonton Oilers are in the fight still as they look to chase their first Stanley Cup in the Connor McDavid era, but this summer, it has been rumoured that one key part of their organization is on the way out. Ken Holland, General Manager has been with this team for the past five years, and while he's made some solid moves, he's also faced plenty of criticism for the way he has built this team around McDavid and Leon Draisaitl.

It's safe to say that unless they win the Stanley Cup this summer, he will be on the way out, and if that's the case, reporter Andy Strickland already has some insight on his next career move.

Ken Holland to #CBJ rumours don't seem to quiet down anytime soon. Maybe a long run to the Final would change things but there are many who feel he could be headed to Columbus to fill their GM vacancy. Mentor Rick Nash to eventually take over?

Holland first gained notoriety as a key piece of the Detroit Red Wings front office that won four Stanley Cups, and while his success in Edmonton certainly hasn't matched up, it's clear he knows what he's doing. With Rick Nash slated to take over as GM of the Blue Jackets one day, as Strickland points out, Holland could be a solid mentor as the team look to finally build a contender.

This situation may all depend on the results in Edmonton this summer, but as of right now, all signs point to Holland taking over in Columbus.
