The Utah Hockey Club have added Kailer Yamamoto to their team by recalling him from their AHL affiliate club in Tucson, as they hope to add some scoring to the team.
The 26-year-old was assigned down on paper yesterday but has earned his way back to the NHL after posting a goal and an assist in five games since he was recalled March 26.
Yamamoto, a 2017 first-round draft pick, signed a two-way contract with Utah after impressing on a tryout in camp. This season is his first extended stay in the minors since the 2019-20 campaign.
With slim NHL production, to the tune of just two points in eight games, which is all he's gotten, he does lead Tucson with 53 points (19 goals, 34 assists) in 52 contests and has a +14 mark.
He's been playing center recently with Barrett Hayton and Nick Schmaltz and is expected back in that role when Utah hosts Seattle tomorrow night.
