Despite concerning weather conditions in Minneapolis-St. Paul, the Toronto Maple Leafs managed to make it in the nick of time and will be able to play against the Minnesota Wild later today.
Despite not much going right for the Toronto Maple Leafs this year, including the recent loss of captain Auston Matthews to injury, they did manage to make it in time for their scheduled game today.
There are major weather conditions in the Minneapolis-St. Paul area of Minnesota, which has caused countless headaches at the airport, including multiple cancelled flights.
Even though there was some initial fear that the Maple Leafs may have to postpone their scheduled game today against the Minnesota Wild, they were able to make it in the nick of time.
The final flight that landed shortly after midnight was Toronto's team plane.
Travel analyst Kyle Potter described some of the headaches being experienced by travelers in the area:
Sunday morning update at Minneapolis Airport
-326 departures canceled today & counting - 70% of schedule
-Delta has canceled everything until about 3pm
-Last plane to land was shortly after midnight - funnily enough, carrying the Toronto Maple Leafs for Wild game. - Kyle Potter

The Maple Leafs Will Play The Wild Today As Scheduled
Thankfully, the Maple Leafs are going to be able to play against the Wild today as scheduled.
But because of the injury to Auston Matthews, who was hurt earlier in the week after being caught with a knee on knee collision with Anaheim Ducks captain Radko Gudas, he won't get to play against Quinn Hughes, his Team USA teammate with whom he won a gold medal late last month in Milan.
