Alexander Ovechkin spent his summer in Russia and picked up quite a collection of parking and speeding tickets along the way.

According to Mash Sport, the Capitals captain accumulated 33 traffic violations over four months, adding up to roughly 82,000 rubles in fines.
The tickets were all tied to Ovechkin's Aurus Arsenal minivan, a rare Russian-made vehicle worth close to 50 million rubles and carrying the eye catching plate number 008.
Most of the violations came from speeding, though Ovechkin also got hit for driving on a toll road without paying, letting parking fees slide, and stopping in spots he probably shouldn't have.

A summer at home before a new season

Ovechkin has been splitting time between Russia and North America for years, and this offseason was no different.
He returned to Washington after signing a new one year deal with the Capitals in July, keeping him in the fold as he chases more milestones after breaking the NHL's all time goals record last season.
The fine situation itself is fairly minor in the grand scheme of things.
Ovechkin has already paid off nearly everything he owed, with just one ticket still outstanding, a 4,500 ruble parking violation that has yet to be settled.

Not the first Russian star to rack up fines

Ovechkin isn't the only former or current NHL name to run into this kind of trouble back home.
Russian traffic enforcement has become far more aggressive with camera systems in recent years, catching plenty of high profile drivers who might not think twice about a quick trip down a toll road.
For Ovechkin, it's a small and mostly harmless offseason story, a reminder that even a record breaking goal scorer isn't immune to a speed camera.
