Toronto Maple Leafs forward Max Domi is marking the calendar the next time they face the Anaheim Ducks, but it may be too little, too late for them.

There was some controversy during a recent Toronto Maple Leafs game against the Anaheim Ducks after captain Auston Matthews was hurt by Radko Gudas.
Gudas, who has injured multiple opponents during his NHL career and served over 20 games worth of suspensions, was ejected from the game and later suspended for five games because of his knee-on-knee hit against Matthews.
Matthews has since been officially ruled out by the Maple Leafs for the rest of the season.
Maple Leafs forward Max Domi is already circling the calendar later this month when the Maple Leafs, sans Matthews, will be on the west coast in Anaheim to play the Ducks. By then, Gudas will have served his suspension.
Max Domi says he was "pretty angry" about Auston Matthews getting hit by Radko Gudas.

He's seen the schedule. Maple Leafs in Anaheim March 30.

"Certainly not happy about it and play 'em in a couple weeks." - Luke Fox
But the Maple Leafs didn't respond whatsoever to their captain and leader being injured because of the reckless actions of an opponent, and their words may be too little, too late.

The Maple Leafs Announced Auston Matthews Won't Play Again This Year

Matthews, who finishes the year with 53 points (27G, 26A), was ruled out for the rest of the year because of the effects of the Gudas hit.
He was diagnosed with a Grade 3 MCL tear, and will need extensive rehabilitation to ensure that he's healthy and ready to go by the time the Maple Leafs are ready for next season.
