Craig Berube answers tough question after Chris Tanev surgery rumour

The Toronto Maple Leafs have seemingly turned their season around in recent times, but even with a 14-11-4 record to start the year, they've still got some major question marks over this roster.

For the most part, those question marks are due to injury, with one of those key injuries being Chris Tanev, who was stretchered off the ice following a nasty collision against the Philadelphia Flyers a few weeks ago.

That game took place on November 1st, and is currently the last game Tanev has played, with the team set to assess the veteran blue liner and his potential to return in the near future.

However, recent speculation noted that surgery could potentially be an option to get him back to 100%, so on Thursday, Head Coach Craig Berube was asked about that possibility.

As of right now, the team are waiting for the results on the assessment of the 35-year old blue liner, and while surgery may potentially be an option down the track, Berube is confident that as of right now, it's not necessary.

Without Tanev on the blue line, the Maple Leafs have a major hole on the left side, one they've not been able to consistently fill in the six weeks since Tanev's injury, so right now, Leafs fans are waiting with baited breath to hear some good news on their veteran.
