A car accident in Pittsburgh has caused the delay of tonight's game between the Pittsburgh Penguins and the Montreal Canadiens at PPG Paints Arena because of the ongoing traffic situation.
The Pittsburgh Penguins and Montreal Canadiens are scheduled to do battle tonight at PPG Paints Arena in downtown Pittsburgh, but a traffic situation has forced the delay of the game.
The news was first reported by analyst Eric Engels, and it was later confirmed by the Penguins official social media account which updated fans with the following message:
Due to an accident on I-279 southbound, tonight's game between the Pittsburgh Penguins and Montreal Canadiens has been moved to 7:30 PM ET (originally 7:00 PM ET).
Fans who typically travel on I-279 to the arena are encouraged to use an alternate route.

Multiple Penguins players who live on the north end of the city are also reportedly affected by the traffic backup.
The Penguins Are Off To A Much Better Start This Year Than Most Would Have Predicted
By most conservative estimates, most fans and analysts had the Penguins projected to miss the Stanley Cup Playoffs for a fourth straight year, which would extend the already career-long droughts of Sidney Crosby, Evgeni Malkin and Kris Letang.
But under the leadership of first year head coach coach Dan Muse, who replaced the terminated Mike Sullivan over the summer, the Penguins have gotten off to a much better start to the season than almost anyone would have realistically predicted.
Right now, the Penguins are fourth overall in the Metropolitan Division and are only four points from being tied for first place.
If they beat the Canadiens tonight, they'll move to within two points of the first place spot in the Division.
