Brad Treliving comments directly on Craig Berube's future in Toronto
Craig Berube is seemingly on the hot seat in Toronto, but now General Manager Brad Treliving has thrown his support behind the veteran Head Coach.
The Toronto Maple Leafs have been through some ups and downs over the past decade, but when the team hired Stanley Cup winning Head Coach Craig Berube a season ago, the hope was that he could be the man to lead them to a Cup in the Core Four era.
Unfortunately for the team, that didn't happen last season, and after the departure of Mitch Marner, the organization was excited to move into a new era, but in 2025/26, they've been struggling in a big way.
With just one win in their last six games, the Maple Leafs are now 15-15-5 on the season, and recently, as a result of major struggles on the power play, the team moved on from assistant Marc Savard.
Brad Treliving confirms Craig Berube's immediate future
That led to question marks over the future of Berube, but in his latest interview following another tough loss, GM Brad Treliving has revealed his stance on Berube's future as Head Coach.
I support Craig fully. - Brad Treliving
Despite speculation that he may be on the hot seat, Treliving has confirmed that for now, the organization fully supports Berube in his role, as they believe he can be a part of the solution in Toronto.
How long that lasts, only time will tell, but given the overwhelming expectations that come with being the Maple Leafs, if he can't prove that results are on the way, there's a chance that this could change in the next 12 months.
