Two top prospects to diss the San Jose Sharks per Boston Insider
The San Jose Sharks are building quite the talented young core, but according to one insider, they may not see a few of them in 2024-25.
With the odds in their favour, the San Jose Sharks landed the No. 1 overall pick in the upcoming 2024 NHL Draft, giving them the right to land Boston University's Macklin Celebrini.
He will join a future young core that already includes the likes of David Edstrom, Quentin Musty and Will Smith, but according to one insider, the future is still a while away.
Not to rain on the #SJSharks parade but there's intense chatter out there that both Macklin Celebrini and Will Smith will return to school next season. I'd think it's much less of a chance with the former but it's still no lock that the Sharks have one or both in September.
Reporter Jimmy Murphy has signalled that perhaps both Celebrini (Boston University) and Smith (Boston College) could return to school next season, and given how bad the rest of the Sharks roster is, that could mean a similar spot in the standings this time next year.
Obviously there's plenty of time for things to change, as Celebrini is still not officially a member of the Sharks organization, but whether he arrives in 2024, 2025 or beyond, it's safe to say that the future just keeps getting brighter in San Jose.
