Team Canada has reportedly made a decision on whether or not second-year San Jose Sharks forward Macklin Celebrini will be on their team for the upcoming 2026 Winter Olympics in Milan.

Right now, the San Jose Sharks have a slogan that reads, "The Future Is Teal", and it's looking every bit that way because of young phenom forward Macklin Celebrini, who was the first overall pick by the Sharks in the 2024 NHL Entry Draft.
Him and fellow young forward Will Smith have Sharks fans rightfully excited about the future of the franchise, which hasn't made the playoffs in several years now and have experienced numerous losing seasons resulting in high draft picks.
Because of his strong second year in the NHL, Celebrini has reportedly made the final roster for Team Canada in the upcoming 2026 Winter Olympics in Milan per a report from analyst Emily Kaplan.
With Olympic rosters due tomorrow, USA Hockey & Team Canada will call players in the morning.

Expect similar American roster to Four Nations; hearing small tweaks. Macklin Celebrini made Canada then we'll see on Connor Bedard, who was just on the outside throughout the process. - Emily Kaplan
So far this year, Celebrini has 60 points (21G, 39A), which is good for third overall in the NHL.

Macklin Celebrini Is A Former First Overall Pick Of The Sharks

After another rough year, the Sharks won the NHL Draft Lottery in 2024 and used it to select Celebrini with the first overall pick, as he was the consensus projected player to go first.
Even though his first year in the NHL was limited because of injury, he showed glimpses of what he could accomplish, and those skills are now on full display in his second year.
And now, it looks like he'll be representing his home country on the world's biggest international stage this coming February.
