One of the most discussed names in NHL Trade rumours so far this year is Calgary Flames defenseman Rasmus Andersson, who is no stranger to being brought up in trade talks.
Andersson is a pending UFA at the end of the year, and the Flames don't appear to be headed toward making a run toward the playoffs; they haven't made the postseason since 2022, and would miss right now if they started today.

Andersson is playing in the last year of his current deal with an AAV (average annual value) of $4.55 million.
He was taken by the Flames with the 53rd overall pick in the 2015 NHL Entry Draft, and he's played in 575 career NHL games, all in a Flames sweater.
