One of the NHL's best wingers likely 'on the outside looking in' for Olympic spot on Team USA
Jason Robertson has been a star since arriving in the NHL, but now, it appears as though he's not guaranteed a spot on Team USA for the Olympics.
The 2026 Olympic Games is right around the corner, and with Team USA and Canada both shaping up as favourites, the roster selection for both teams could play a major role in how that tournament shapes out.
As of yet, we still only know the handful of players from the initial roster that was announced, but in the coming weeks, things are set to be made official for the league's return to the Olympic Games.
Jason Robertson not yet a lock for Team USA
Regardless of the roster selected, there's going to be players that the public see as 'snubs', and now, one of the biggest has potentially been identified following a report from Sean Shapiro.
The Stars reporter has revealed that Jason Robertson is 'on the outside looking in' at a roster spot for Team USA, despite posting 23 goals and 45 points in 39 games played this season following two stellar campaigns for Dallas.
When putting together projections for this roster, Robertson is believed to be on the team by many on the outside, but clearly, the selectors for this team just don't see his impact, despite posting 79 or more points in his last four seasons.
Ultimately, this would be a major mistake for Team USA as they look to get revenge for their loss at the Four Nations Face Off, but with so much talent to choose from, there's bound to be major snubs regardless of who they are.
