Celebrini shows off his true colours after accidental high sticking penalty call
Macklin Celebrini is a young superstar in the making, and now the Sharks centre has shown off his true colours in San Jose's latest game.
The future of the NHL has been in good hands for a few years now, but with the emergence of Connor Bedard and Macklin Celebrini, we've got some superstars to look forward too for years to come.
However, it's the Sharks former No. 1 overall pick that is shining the brightest of all the young names around the league, and with 52 goals and 142 points in his first 122 games, he's living up to the billing as a generational superstar.
Celebrini shows off his good nature against Edmonton
While Celebrini has hit the ground running in the NHL, it's his personality and his good nature that has shined through the most for the 19-year old, with the fame and the early success clearly not getting to his head.
That was on display against the Edmonton Oilers on Thursday, as Celebrini's opponent was called for a high stick when his head jerked back on the play. The only problem? Celebrini wasn't touched at all.
While some players would use that gamesmanship to get that penalty in their favour and use it to their advantage, the 19-year old didn't want to play like that, as he immediately skated toward the official to tell him that he wasn't touched and it shouldn't be a penalty.
When it matters most in the years to come, there could potentially be a time when Celebrini needs to sell a penalty like this to help his team get over the top, but right now, he wants to play the game his way, and it's hard not to commend him for brilliant moves like this.
