Per a new report from NHL analyst Kevin Weekes, there is one Canadian team reportedly in the Artemi Panarin sweepstakes, and it's the Toronto Maple Leafs.
It won't be long before the New York Rangers move on from forward Artemi Panarin, who is in the final year of his seven year deal he signed in 2019 to try and win a Stanley Cup in New York but proved unsuccessful.
The Rangers have announced to their fans they are undergoing a retooling process, and Panarin being moved will be part of it. GM Chris Drury said that Panarin will not be re-signed, which means he will be traded soon.
There are several teams that are reportedly in the mix to try and acquire Panarin for a stretch playoff run, and per a new report from NHL analyst Kevin Weekes, the one Canadian-based team in the mix for him are the Toronto Maple Leafs.
Per sources, as of today, I’m told the following have expressed interest in Panarin ; ANA, LA, SJ, VGK, DAL, UT, COL, MIN, SEA, TOR, CAR, WAS, TBL, NYI.

So far this year, Panarin has 57 points (19G, 37A). He's been withheld from the Rangers lineup because of roster management, meaning that a trade is imminent.
The Rangers Have Announced A Retooling Process
Rangers GM Chris Drury recently sent a letter to Rangers fans explaining that they are going to have to make some hard decisions in the near future, which will include trading away potentially multiple players.
Panarin will be one of them, and he will join names like Jacob Trouba, FIlip Chytil, and Chris Kreider, all of whom the Rangers have recently parted ways with.
The former Calder Trophy winner as NHL Rookie of the Year has 927 points (321G, 606A) in 804 career games.
