Dillon Dubé set to sign new deal with central division organization
Dillon Dube is now eligible to return to the NHL, and now, he is set to sign an AHL deal with the St. Louis Blues organization.
Over the past few months, we've seen both Carter Hart and Cal Foote sign professional deals in North America, and now, Dillon Dube is reportedly set to do the same.
With the former Calgary Flames forward becoming eligible to return to the NHL on December 1st, rumours circulated over Dube's future, and whether or not he would find a new deal in North America like Hart and Foote, with the former already returning to action in the NHL.
Dillon Dube set to sign with the St. Louis Blues organization
According to NHL Insider Frank Seravalli, talks are heating up between the Blues and Dube, who is reportedly set to sign a deal with their American Hockey League affiliate, the Springfield Thunderbirds.
The 27-year old last played with Dinamo Minsk in the KHL, putting up 4 goals and 11 points in 42 games played with the team during the 2024/25 season.
Now, with everything seemingly behind him, the Blues are betting on the talent that once made him a second-round pick, although his career high with the Flames would come in 2022/23 when he tallied 18 goals and 45 points across the 82 game season.
With this deal being an AHL one, the team can hope he learns and develops in their system before potentially becoming an NHLer once more, and although it's a move that didn't pay off this summer when they signed the controversial Milan Lucic, they are hoping that this time around things go much better.
