The St. Louis Blues have struggled mightily in 2025/26, and now, it appears as though GM Doug Armstrong is ready to make some major changes to this roster.
Last year, the St. Louis Blues shocked the NHL world, and while they came up short in round one against the rival Winnipeg Jets, their run to the Stanley Cup Playoffs was one of the stories of the 2024/25 NHL season.
This season, things have once again started slow for the Blues, but with the team sitting 29th in the overall league standings, it's safe to say that optimism is quite low for the rest of the campaign.
GM Doug Armstrong ready to blow things up
That extends to General Manager Doug Armstrong, and according to NHL Insider Pierre LeBrun, he is ready to blow things up and make significant changes to this roster, making everyone, even their top players available via trade.
I've been told by other teams that [GM Armstrong] has said, I don't care if we make the playoffs or not, we're not beating Colorado in the first round, so I'm still listening on all these guys. - LeBrun
The Blues just recently locked in Philip Broberg on a long-term deal, so it's unlikely that he will be available on the trade market, but with the likes of Robert Thomas, Jordan Kyrou, Brayden Schenn, Colton Parayko and Jordan Binnington all holding value, one or many of them could be on the way out.
As of right now, the team are yet to make a major move, but with the Olympic break upcoming and then the trade deadline following, it's more likely than not at this point that the Blues will be one of, if not the most aggressive seller in the entire league leading up to that day.
