Pittsburgh Penguins 700-game veteran reportedly available at trade deadline

Pittsburgh Penguins team insider Dan Kingerski reported recently that Kyle Dubas could move a long-time NHL veteran in the coming weeks.
The Pittsburgh Penguins are one of the oldest teams in the NHL.
In a sport that emphasizes speed and physicality, that is not a good thing to be.
This has proven to be correct once again this season as the Penguins continue to struggle.
They are currently 7th place in the Metro Division with 55 points through 57 games, ahead of only the Philadelphia Flyers based on tiebreakers.
As such, the team is expected to be sellers at the March 7th NHL trade deadline.
According to Penguins reporter Dan Kingerski, veteran forward
Kevin Hayes is attracting attention from teams across the league.
Fellow Penguins Reporter Josh Yohe also recently discussed the possibility of the Penguins moving Hayes, saying flatly that he is available.
"He brings some things to the table in the offensive zone. If anyone wants him and his now-reduced salary, he's available."
Hayes, 32, has 9 goals and 14 points through 40 games this season. He is on pace to match last year's 29-pont campaign, albeit with a bit more goal-scoring.
He comes with a cap hit just under 3.5 million dollars for the remainder of the season and next year as well.
That price is a bit high for what he provides now, but as Kingerski reports, if Dubas is willing to retain salary on him, or perhaps find a 3rd team to do so, a trade does seem rather likely.
After all, the Penguins seem to be ready to sell everything that isn't nailed down this season.
It certainly seems as though the Penguins will be one of the busier teams at the trade deadline this year, so be sure to tune in to see what Kyle Dubas can pull off.
