After their 7-5 loss to the divisional foe Toronto Maple Leafs, Ottawa Senators goaltender Linus Ullmark has announced a personal leave of absence.

It was not a good game last night for Ottawa Senators goaltender Linus Ullmark, who was torched against the divisional foe Toronto Maple Leafs for four goals on just 14 shots against before being yanked for backup Leevi Merilainen.
Today, the Senators announced that Ullmark has stepped away from the team because of personal reasons. They made the following announcement on their X account:
Ottawa Senators President of Hockey Operations and General Manager Steve Staios announced today that goaltender Linus Ullmark will be taking a leave of absence from the team for personal reasons.

'Linus has the full support of our organization during this time,' said Staios. 'Out of respect for Linus, we will not be making any further comments.' - Ottawa Senators
Ullmark, who is in his second year in a Senators sweater after being acquired from the Boston Bruins last summer, is 14-8-5 with a subpar .881 SV% in 28 games played.

Linus Ullmark Is Playing In His Second Year In A Senators Sweater

Ullmark has only played in the Eastern Conference during his NHL career, as he was taken with the 163rd overall pick by the Buffalo Sabres in the 2012 NHL Entry Draft.
He would play several seasons with the Sabres before signing a four year contract with the Boston Bruins in July of 2021.
He then played the next three years in a Bruins sweater before being acquired last summer by the Senators for Mark Kastelic, Joonas Korpisalo, and a first round pick in the 2024 NHL Entry Draft.
