Following a failed PTO with the Toronto Maple Leafs, goaltender James Reimer is signing a PTO with a new Atlantic division team, the Ottawa Senators.

Just when it seemed that the NHL journey for veteran goaltender James Reimer came to a close, he's getting one more opportunity.
Reimer has signed a professional tryout agreement (PTO) with the Ottawa Senators' American Hockey League affiliate Belleville Senators, and per NHL analyst Darren Dreger, the expectation is that he'll soon have an NHL contract in hand and be able to back up Linus Ullmark, who is away from the team with a personal matter.
The Senators have signed veteran goalie James Reimer to an AHL PTO. Expect Reimer to report to Ottawa in a few days with an NHL contract. Ultimately, the hope is Reimer will provide good backup to Linus Ullmark when he returns from Personal

The Senators are without Ullmark, who took a leave of absence from the team because of a personal matter.

James Reimer Has Won 225 NHL Games With Multiple Teams

Reimer was taken by the Toronto Maple Leafs with the 99th overall pick in the 2006 NHL Entry Draft, and he would eventually play the first several years of his career in a Maple Leafs sweater.
He would be in net for what was the Maple Leafs' first playoff appearance since 2004 in 2013, but he and his teammates suffered a heartbreaking loss in seven games to the Boston Bruins.
Reimer has played for multiple teams since then, including the Florida Panthers, San Jose Sharks, Carolina Hurricanes, Detroit Red Wings and Buffalo Sabres.
He signed a PTO agreement earlier this fall with the Maple Leafs, but did not earn a roster spot.
Reimer has a career record of 225-187-65 with a .910 SV% and 31 shutouts.
