Calvin De Haan Reveals the Lies the Rangers Organization Told Him After Media Controversy

Calvin de Haan recently called out the New York Rangers, and now he's revealed why he was so frustrated in that moment after what the organization told him.
The New York Rangers traded Ryan Lindgren to the Colorado Avalanche at the trade deadline, and as a result, many believed they would play Calvin de Haan significant minutes after the veteran was acquired in the deal.
That is apparently what de Haan believed too, as he has revealed on Monday what the organization led him to believe following the trade that saw him end up in the Big Apple.
«It might have just been a teleprompter answer, frankly, just welcome to the team, that kind of thing They alluded to the fact that I was part of a trade for a Ranger who was a good Ranger for a long time. I was told I was going to part of the team moving forward and get an opportunity.»
This all comes on the back of de Haan expressing his frustration about a lack of playing time during his time with the Rangers, where he explicitly called out the organization for allowing him to dress in just three of the 21 games that he was with the team for.
If it wasn't painfully obvious after that outburst that de Haan is on his way out in the summer as a free agent, it sure is now, as he simply hints at the fact that the Rangers led him to believe he'd have the opportunity to play big minutes for them down the stretch.
Instead, the team focused on players like Carson Soucy who clearly struggled late in the season, and as a result, it cost Head Coach Peter Laviolette his job after a disappointing run.
Ultimately, it's unclear how much de Haan can still offer at the highest level, but after seemingly being promised the opportunity to play, the Rangers took that away from him, so it's very easy to see where that frustration came from.
