Senators Head Coach Travis Green Under Fire for Immature Comments After Blowout Loss

The officials called 22 penalties, with all 22 coming in the final two periods. Toronto cashed in on the ugliness, scoring three times with six power plays en route to a 6-2 rout. Ottawa, on the other hand, had only two chances with the man-advantage.
Senators coach Travis Green said Toronto may have been milking some of the contact in trying to get penalties drawn.
"I thought there were a couple calls they did a good job selling."

However, Leafs coach Craig Berube shot it down, choosing to speak on his own team instead of Ottawa.
Berube did have a point, however, ending his media availability session by saying "call the league" regarding a
Ridly Greig cross-check that had been downgraded from a major to a minor.
Green blamed the loss on the refs, leading to accusations of immaturity
Not all of Ottawa's transgressions were arguable, as some, like the Greig penalty, were inexcusable, leading many to say Green's comments were immature all things considered.
But the Senators will certainly button things up in the next game, if only because they've learned the Leafs won't be getting that kind of power-play benefit on a nightly basis, or they will shower them with goals.
Despite the score, the game was actually closer at even strength, with the Senators even having the edge in expected 5-on-5 goals, so Ottawa does have a little hope there.
Game 2 is tomorrow, and if the Leafs steal one more before the series comes to Ottawa, they'll be set up nicely, very early in the series.
