Jonathan Quick has remained a solid contributor for the New York Rangers at 40-years of age, and now he's back for another season in New York after officially re-signing with the team on Wednesday.

The New York Rangers may have struggled for much of the 2024/25 season, but one thing that they have gotten is solid goaltending throughout the year behind the pairing of Igor Shesterkin and Jonathan Quick.
Earlier this season, Shesterkin signed a record breaking deal for goaltenders in the NHL, and now it's Quick's time to re-up with the Rangers, as it has been announced he will return for his aged 40 season in the NHL next year.
On Wednesday, the Rangers announced that Quick will return for another season in 2025/26, with Frank Seravalli noting that the deal carries a salary cap hit of $1.55 million, another solid payday for one of the most consistent goaltenders the NHL has ever seen.
After an incredible run in Los Angeles that saw him lead the Kings to two Stanley Cups, Quick has spent the last two seasons with the Rangers, posting a 27-12-4 record during that time as he's become one of the best backup goaltenders in the NHL.
Also during that stretch, Quick has tallied a .904 save percentage and a 2.83 GAA, so while he's no longer the superstar he once was in net, as a veteran backup, he brings everything that the team needs to New York.
Ultimately, this is likely to be Quick's last season in the NHL after an incredible career that has seen him appear in 801 games in net, and when it's all said and done, there's no doubt he'll be considered one of the greatest to ever do it.
