The Montreal Canadiens have slowed down as of late, and now they've recalled Marc Del Gaizo ahead of a crucial game against Columbus.

Earlier this season, the Montreal Canadiens were red-hot, but with losses in five of their last six games, they've come crashing back down to earth as they currently own a 10-6-2 record on the year.
For the most part, this recent period of struggle has come due to injury, with the team losing several key pieces for extended periods of time as their depth is now being tested in a big way.

Canadiens recall intriguing defenseman Marc Del Gaizo

In the past week, Montreal have seen Alex Newhook, Kaiden Guhle and Kirby Dach all ruled out for at least a month and in one case much longer, and now, they've made a move to change up the look of the roster.
On Monday ahead of a clash with the Columbus Blue Jackets, Montreal have recalled 26-year old Marc Del Gaizo from the Laval Rocket, as he's now a candidate to make his official Montreal Canadiens debut.
Originally, Del Gaizo was a fourth-round pick of the Nashville Predators back in the 2019 NHL Draft, and in recent years he's gotten a shot in the NHL, tallying 2 goals and 12 points in 55 games played with the Predators.
However, he departed the team in the off-season, and after posting 6 assists in 11 games with the Rocket down in the American Hockey League, the Canadiens potentially see him as someone that can contribute to winning with this team in 2025/26.
As of right now, there's no open spot for Del Gaizo on the blue line, but if Martin St. Louis wants to shake things up a little, there's a good chance that the 26-year old could make his debut with Montreal in the coming days.
