John Beecher has had his opportunities in Boston over the past few years, but after failing to make an impact, the team have officially placed him on waivers.

The Boston Bruins took a huge step back a season ago, with the organization taking the opportunity to reset by trading some of the franchise's most important players, including Brad Marchand.
However, they've bounced back this season on the back of some great performances from their young core, but unfortunately, not everyone has taken their opportunities to become important parts of the team.

John Beecher placed on waivers

Back in 2019, the Bruins selected forward John Beecher with the No. 30 overall pick in the NHL Draft, and since that point, the 24-year old has shown plenty of potential in the AHL and the NHL.
However, he had just 11 points in 78 games played a season ago, and with just one goal in six games played in 2025/26, the team are clearly frustrated with his lack of development and production.
Now, that's led to Monday, where the team officially placed him on waivers, and given the potential of the talented centre, there's a chance that a team out there could look to take a chance on him.
With a career high of just 23 points at the professional level, Beecher is never a player that's going to put up massive numbers, but given his two-way play, there's still a full-time NHLer in Beecher somewhere.
Ultimately though, the Bruins will be hoping that he can pass through waivers and head back to the AHL, but with the talent out there, don't be shocked to see if other teams look to pick him up for free.
