The Calgary Flames are potential sellers this season, and now star blue liner Mackenzie Weegar may be available as the team's struggles continue.
This season has seen a major fall off for the Calgary Flames, as the lack of elite level talent has finally caught up to this team as they sit in 32nd in the National Hockey League standings with a record of 5-12-3.
Mackenzie Weegar may become trade piece in Calgary
On top of that, it appears as though star blue liner Mackenzie Weegar may become an option on the trade market as well, with
David Pagnotta speculating that if the team starts selling veterans, he may look to explore his options as well.
Full no trade; no indication...he would even consider it right now, but I'm curious, Andersson goes, maybe Coleman goes; Kadri; where does that then put his mind.
In the past, Weegar has expressed his absolute love for the Flames and the city of Calgary, but if the team truly start looking towards the future instead of the present, he may see better options out there as he looks to chase the first Stanley Cup in his career.
This season, No. 52 has been up-and-down on the ice, posting just 4 assists in 20 games played, but after putting up 47 and 52 points over his past two campaigns in Calgary, if he finds his way to a contender, he could once again emerge as a top defenseman in the league.
