Canadiens Goalie Jakub Dobes Likely to Get Fined After Calling For Two NHL Referees to Be Replaced
Dobes performed admirably, stopping 21 of the 24 shots he faced, as he was significantly busier than
Logan Thompson, who stopped 16 of 18.
Unfortunately for the rookie netminder it just wasn't quite enough as the Capitals scored late in the 3rd period securing the victory.
After the game, Dobes spoke with the media and shared his head coach's frustrations with the way the game was called.
He went so far as to say that he did not want to see Dan O'Rourke and Frederick L'Ecuyer as the referees for game five.
Dobes also commented on the hit Capitals forward
Tom Wilson made on his teammate
Alexandre Carrier just moments before the Capitals scored the go-ahead goal.
He felt like the play should have automatically resulted in a whistle because Carrier was hit up high, implying that there also should have been a penalty on the play.
That was not the only controversial play in the game however.
A hit
Alexander Ovechkin made on
Jake Evans drew criticism from fans of both teams as Capitals fans believed it should not have been a penalty at all while Habs fans were arguing for a major.
Regardless, the Canadiens will have to muster more than 18 shots in game five if they want their season to continue.
Will we get one more game at the Bell Center this year? Tune in Wednesday to find out.
