Montreal Canadiens Clap Back at Alex Ovechkin After His Controversial Comments This Morning
The Montreal Canadiens chirped Alex Ovechkin today as game four of their playoff series against the Capitals got underway.
The Montreal Canadiens are hosting the Washington Capitals for game four of their first-round matchup tonight.
It is a must-win game for the Canadiens who are looking to avoid going back to Washington down 3-1 in the series.
Now, the Habs have fired back with a post from the team's X account referencing Ovechkin's comment.
Ovechkin has been a force on the ice in the series as he leads the Capitals with three goals through three games, and is second on points with four, only behind
Dylan Strome.
Notably, Ovi had the game-winning goal in game one of the series which is exactly why the Capitals have a 2-1 lead in the series coming into today.
Needless to say, this series could look very different right now if it were not for the great eight.
That being said, the Canadiens still have a chance to make it a series tonight with a win on home ice.
So far the young team has held their own rather well against the top seed in the Eastern Conference, showing that they can compete with the best teams in the league.
Who knows, if they can get past Washington in the first round, perhaps they could go on another miracle run to the Stanley Cup final like they did in 2020.
