Eetu Luostarinen is set to miss significant time for the Florida Panthers, and now the bizarre incident that is leading to his absence has been revealed.

Just last week, the New Jersey Devils announced that Jack Hughes will miss significant time due to a bizarre incident that involved him leaning on a glass at a team dinner, with at least six weeks until he returns following the cuts that he suffered.
Now, the string of off-ice injuries around the NHL have reportedly continued, as it has been reported that Eetu Luostarinen will miss significant time as well for another incident that had nothing to do with hockey.

Bizarre situation leads to a major Eetu Luostarinen absence

Head Coach Paul Maurice has now revealed that it was a burn suffered by Luostarinen while barbecuing that will lead to his absence, with no clear timeline to return for the talented forward.
Once again this season, Luostarinen has been a very steady performer for the Panthers, tallying 3 goals and 10 points in 18 games as his role has increased following other injuries to Matthew Tkachuk and Aleksander Barkov.
Now however, the team have recalled top prospect Jack Devine as a replacement, giving the fans a potential look at their future as they continue to battle through these injury issues.
It's unclear just how long Luostarinen will be out, but given what the team is going through, this is the last thing they needed, and while we may never get the details on exactly what happened, it's certainly a tough look for a team that's already battling hard to stay alive in the Atlantic Division.
