The honeymoon is officially over for Tristan Jarry in Edmonton after that 7-3 disaster against the Minnesota Wild.

He didn't mince words in the locker room when talking to Ryan Rishaug. He looked like a guy who had seen enough of the fire drills in his own zone. Jarry says the team in front of him has to tighten up and eliminate the Grade A looks.
He was hunted out there for sixty minutes. No help. No coverage. No chance.
He was drafted in the 2nd round, 44th overall by Pittsburgh in 2013. He arrived in December with massive expectations. He is a mountain at 6'4'' but even the biggest guys can't stop 2-on-1s every five minutes.
The Oilers paid a premium price tag to get him. They shipped out Stuart Skinner and a draft pick to land the veteran. His $5.375M cap hit tells you exactly what the front office expects from him every single night.
But he can't do it alone. The turnover at the midway point of the 2nd period was a total joke. It was a lazy pass that led directly to a cross-crease tap-in. Jarry just stood there staring at the rafters in disbelief.

The blame game begins for Tristan Jarry

Jarry has 15 wins this season but his stats since landing in Alberta are honestly ugly. A 3.59 GAA won't get you anywhere near a Stanley Cup parade.
That .873 save percentage is a death sentence. It is the kind of number that gets goalies run out of town. Yet Jarry is pointing the finger squarely at the blueline.
Darnell Nurse and Evan Bouchard were nowhere to be found on several of those Minnesota goals. They looked lost. They played soft. They let the Wild walk right into the slot at Rogers Place.
It is a bold play for a guy who just walked into the room six weeks ago. Usually, the new guy keeps his head down and eats the humble pie. Not this time.
He is done playing nice. He's clearly fed up with the inconsistent structure and the 'no-show' defensive effort. Jarry wants the high-danger chances gone right now or he is going to keep getting lit up.
The Oilers are sitting at 28-20-8. They are in a dogfight in the Pacific Division and the clock is ticking. If they don't fix the defense, the playoffs are a pipe dream.
Is Jarry right to blast his teammates in public? Or should the $5 million man just worry about stopping the puck himself?
