Despite concerns over the kind of assets they'd be able to offer in return, the Florida Panthers have reportedly entered the trade talks for Artemi Panarin.

The New York Rangers are on the verge of some major changes amidst yet another losing year, and it won't be long before forward Artemi Panarin is moved.
Panarin was told by Rangers GM Chris Drury that he will not be offered a new contract, and he's been held out of the last handful of Rangers games for roster management, meaning that a move is inevitable.
There are several teams who are jockeying for position to try and acquire Panarin, but one of them is now reportedly the defending Stanley Cup champion Florida Panthers.
Per Friedman, despite concerns over whether or not the Panthers would be able to pull off such a move, there remains interest on their part.
The one team here that I was talking to people about today - everybody thinks that his number one choice, if all things were equal, would be Florida. I have no idea if they could do it. It would seem like they couldn't do it, but one of the things that people around the league are wondering is, is there any way that Florida can do it? - Elliotte Friedman
So far in what will be his last year with the Rangers, Panarin has 57 points (19G, 38A).

Artemi Panarin Will Be Moved By The Rangers

The Rangers have told Panarin, who signed a seven year contract with them in 2019 after coming over from the Columbus Blue Jackets, that he will not be given a new contract.
Panarin, who won the Calder Trophy in 2016 with the Chicago Blackhawks, has played for Chicago, the Blue Jackets, and the Rangers in his NHL career.
He has 927 points (321G, 606A) in 804 career NHL games.
