Dallas Superstar Jason Robertson Injured in Final Game of the Season
The Dallas Stars have a tough matchup in round one against the Colorado Avalanche, and now they've got a fresh issue to worry about with a Jason Robertson injury.
While Game 82 meant absolutely nothing to the Dallas Stars, who already clinched home ice advantage over the Colorado Avalanche, but regardless of that, they iced close to a full lineup ahead of the Stanley Cup Playoffs.
Now, that could come back to bite them in a huge way, as Emma Lingan is now reporting that after an injury he sustained against the Nashville Predators, Jason Robertson was seen leaving in a knee brace.
When asked about the situation, Head Coach Peter DeBoer had little to say, except for stating that they tried to rest players to avoid injury, but in this one they simply couldn't do it with Robertson.
«the purpose of resting people down the stretch was to hopefully avoid injury and unfortunately we didn't do that with the Robertson injury."
It's unclear now if he'll be missing Saturday's series opener against the Colorado Avalanche, but even if he gets back for that game, this was incredible irresponsible of the Stars to play him in the finale, as he's a key piece to any success they'll have in 2025.
Given DeBoer's frustration, there is speculation that this could be a potential injury that keeps him out for at least a game or two, but until Friday, it's unlikely that we'll know much more about his status moving forward.
We will continue to bring updates on this situation as it develops, but as of right now, Stars fans will be holding their breath as they look for answers on one of the organizations biggest stars, as his availability could be the difference between a deep Stanley Cup run or a first-round flame out.
