The St. Louis Blues are gearing up for a Stanley Cup Playoffs race, but for a former top-10 pick, he'll be down in the NHL for the foreseeable future after a very promising first career professional season.
After a red-hot second half of the season, the St. Louis Blues now find themselves in the Stanley Cup Playoffs, with a showdown looming against the Central Division Winnipeg Jets in round one.
Now, we know one player that won't be on their roster, as the team have officially re-assigned former top-10 pick
Dalibor Dvorsky to the AHL as he'll join the Springfield Thunderbirds for the Calder Cup Playoffs.
The 19-year old was picked 10th overall in the 2023 NHL Draft, and after a stellar 2023/24 campaign with the Sudbury Wolves of the OHL, he officially turned pro this season.
In 59 games for the Thunderbirds, Dvorsky tallied 20 goals and 44 points, earning him an NHL debut, and although he didn't score in the two games he was given, he certainly looked incredibly promising for the future.
With the Thunderbirds set to chase the Calder Cup over the coming weeks, he'll be getting valuable playoff experience in the AHL, and at just 19-years of age, the Blues have clearly found themselves a very intriguing piece of their future.
For now though, he's back in the AHL where he will get many more opportunities and much more playing time in the playoffs, and if his development continues as quick and as impressively as it did this season, not only could he be a valuable piece of their future, but he may be a player that threatens to make their NHL roster in 2025/26.
