In their latest round of roster cuts, the Carolina Hurricanes have included former Sharks forward Kevin Labanc and Calgary Flames defenseman Oliver Kylington.
NHL teams across the League are working toward cutting down their roster to the mandated minimum, and the Carolina Hurricanes are the latest team to announce a series of cuts.

with them on a PTO, and former Calgary Flames defenseman Oliver Kylington, a former Bill Masterton Trophy nominee, who was also on a PTO.

Labanc played most of his career with the San Jose Sharks after they took him with the 171st overall pick in the 2014 NHL Entry Draft.
He was part of the Sharks team that went on a run to the WCF in 2019, which included a dramatic Game 7 OT win over the Vegas Golden Knights in the WCQF. Labanc scored what was the go-ahead PPG in the 3rd period, giving the Sharks a 4-3 lead in a stunning turn of events after Vegas initially led 3-0.
He played last year with the Columbus Blue Jackets, and has 237 points (84G, 153A) in 512 games.
Kylington was taken 60th overall by the Calgary Flames in the 2015 NHL Entry Draft and was later nominated by the club for the Bill Masterton Memorial Trophy, which goes "to the player who best exemplifies the qualities of perseverance, sportsmanship and dedication to hockey."
He spent over a year away from the team in Sweden because of an undisclosed personal matter.
He's also played for the Colorado Avalanche and Anaheim Ducks; he has 60 points (18G, 42A) in 220 games.
