The Maple Leafs inked Anthony Stolarz to a new deal recently, and now, they've been given immense praise by franchise icon Darryl Sittler for the move.

This off-season has been a busy one for the Toronto Maple Leafs, and after months of expectation, they got another big time move done recently, as they inked goaltender Anthony Stolarz to a fantastic four-year deal worth $3.75 million per season.
With Stolarz now locked in, the duo of Stolarz/Joseph Woll have huge expectations on their shoulders heading into the 2025/26 campaign, with both enjoying plenty of success a season ago during another fantastic regular season for this organization.

This deal for Stolarz has been widely praised around the NHL, with the team locking him in to a budget friendly deal after posting a 2.14 GAA and a .926 save percentage with the team through 34 games played a year ago.
Not only that, but franchise icon Darryl Sittler came out in support of the move as he hopes that his beloved Maple Leafs can finally translate the regular season success into a long run in the Stanley Cup Playoffs.
"I think it's awesome. You're not gonna go anywhere in this league, especially the playoffs, without outstanding goaltending. It was unfortunate last year, might have made a difference in that series, we'll never know. But the fact that he's such a big guy, covers a lot of net, and he had great success last year. There's no reason he can't continue having a great season this year. You gotta have that if you're gonna go anywhere."

Unfortunately, Stolarz' season was cut short after contact to the head in their series with the Panthers, but if he can stay healthy for the upcoming season, there's no reason why he can't be among the best goaltenders in the NHL for Toronto.
