Nazem Kadri Linked to Flames' Canadian Rival Per Pierre LeBrun
NHL analyst Pierre LeBrun has linked Calgary Flames forward Nazem Kadri to the Montreal Canadiens if the year for the Flames continues to spiral out of control.
There's not a whole lot going right for the Calgary Flames right now, who are now 2-8-1 after losing 4-3 to the Toronto Maple Leafs on Tuesday night.
There could be impending moves if they aren't able to dig themselves out of this current hole, and one player who has found himself
embroiled in trade rumours is Nazem Kadri.
Kadri, who is playing in his fourth season with Calgary, has been listed as a potential trade candidate who could fit with the Montreal Canadiens per a new report from NHL analyst Pierre LeBrun.
Pierre LeBrun: The Habs...my understanding is they've gone through the entire league in their preparations internally and have a list of what centers could potentially pop up...ahead of the March 6 deadline; yes Kadri is one of those names - OverDrive (10/28)
So far this year, Kadri has eight points (2G, 6A) in 11 games played. Last year, he had a career-best 35 goals, though it wasn't enough to get the Flames to the playoffs.
Nazem Kadri Has Said That He's Happy Playing With The Flames
Kadri, who signed a seven year contract with an AAV (average annual value) of $7 million with the Flames after helping the Colorado Avalanche to the Stanley Cup in 2022, has said that he
likes playing in Calgary and that his focus is on helping them win games.
I've had to approach a lot more difficult situations than something like this. So for me, it's really nothing that draws my attention. Obviously, there's going to be some questions about it. I'm OK to answer them, but at the end of the day I'm focused on winning hockey games.
Kadri, who is five games away from 1,000 in his career, has 717 points (309G, 408A).
