The Boston Bruins are the proud winners in the Dalton Bancroft sweepstakes, as they have come out on top of all the other teams and signed him to a contract.

The Boston Bruins beat out several other NHL teams to sign Cornell University power forward Dalton Bancroft, and they made it official by announcing a one-year deal on Thursday.
Bancroft will join the Providence Bruins on an amateur tryout agreement for the rest of the season prior to his NHL contract, which has a $950,000 annual cap hit, taking effect in the 2025-26 season.

The rival Lightning as well as the Oilers were all frontrunners for Bancroft

The 24-year-old forward was a highly sought-after prospect, with the Tampa Bay Lightning and Edmonton Oilers also said to be pursuing him aggressively.
At 6-foot-3 and 207 pounds, Bancroft is a physical presence on the ice. He scored 15 goals and added 12 assists in 36 games last season at Cornell. He was teamed up with Bruins prospect Ryan Walsh, who led the team with 17 goals and 14 assists.
A native of Madoc, Ontario, Bancroft followed an unusual path to the NCAA, first playing in the Ontario Hockey League (OHL) prior to making the leap to the Ivy League.
In his time at college, he scored 36 goals and added 43 assists for 79 points in 103 games. With his professional career now underway, Bancroft seeks to make an impact with the Bruins organization.
The Bruins, who currently sit dead last in the Eastern Conference, are hoping Bancroft will be the first step for the team to turn things around next season.
